Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner insists on a positive display from his players ahead of Newcastle game

Oliver Glasner, the new manager of Crystal Palace, has challenged his team to take the Premier League by storm after their victory over Liverpool. He wants his team to become a tough team to play against in every game.

On Wednesday night, Newcastle United travels to Selhurst Park in an attempt to hold onto sixth position in the Premier League. Although Eddie Howe’s team appears to have a great chance given their current position at the bottom of the table, the Eagles’ 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield last weekend has somewhat altered the situation.

Glasner wants to witness all the good things that Anfield did against David Moyes’ team and then against Newcastle in midweek. Palace plays West Ham today before facing Newcastle. For the rest of the season, the Austrian has issued a challenge to his team that may have an impact on how they line up against the Magpies.

“It would be awful if every team said, ‘Oh, it’s nice to play against Palace because we win!'” Glasner remarked prior to today’s Selhurst Park match between the Hammers and Palace.

“We want to play in a way that makes us difficult to play against.” Our goal is to play with assurance. Together, we wish to defend. Together, we wish to launch an attack. This is the mindset we have because we are constantly looking to score goals. We’ve gained the lead after six or seven games, but now it’s up to us to maintain this momentum for the entire match.

After missing four months with injury, Rob Holding may make a comeback for Palace against Newcastle; however, the hosts may be without Matheus Franca, Will Hughes, Joel Ward, Chris Richards, Jefferson Lerma, and Cheick Doucour.
