The Minnesota Vikings are considering a move for top QB

The Minnesota Vikings are obviously in the market for a quarterback after losing Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons in free agency. With Sam Darnold joining as his replacement and the team having the 11th and 23rd picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, it’s obvious that the Vikes will select a quarterback on Thursday if they so choose.

One analyst claims that they will need to make a run at a certain prospect that they like better than many other teams.

Thanks to The Purple Persuasion on Twitter, Ben Volin of The Boston Globe revealed that the Vikings are more interested in UNC quarterback Drake Maye than the New England Patriots. He stated, “If the Patriots were truly sold on Maye, they wouldn’t consider trading their No. 3 pick.” It seems likely to me that the Vikings desire Maye more.

For several months, Maye was the Washington Commanders’ anticipated No. 2 choice; however, it is now claimed that LSU’s Jayden Daniels has surpassed him for that position.

Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy has seen his draft value rocket to the point where he may be selected in the top-5, and the Vikings are reportedly willing to trade up into the 5–6 bracket in order to choose McCarthy, according to most trade rumors.

It hasn’t been suggested by many analysts that the Vikings should use their extra first-round pick to select Maye at No. 3, but it would be fantastic for Maye because he would join a team that is eager to have a new quarterback.
