Luton Town have confirmed that Tom Lockyer will leave hospital on Thursday after collapsing during their play-off final win over Coventry City.

 

The 28-year-old was stretched off the pitch at Wembley on Saturday after collapsing early on in the final. He was subsequently taken to hospital to undergo medical checks.

Pictures emerged on social media of Lockyer celebrating the Hatters’ penalty shootout victory from his hospital bed, as his side denied the Sky Blues a place in the Premier League next season.

Luton have confirmed that Lockyer will be leaving hospital whilst thanking everyone for their messages of support.

 

“We are so pleased to report that Tom Lockyer will be allowed to leave hospital and return home tomorrow,” they tweeted.

 

“We would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support for Locks and can’t wait to see him back home at the Kenny with that trophy in his hands!”
