AC Milan’s Veteran Striker Isn’t Worried About His Future at San Siro

“We want to do well against Borussia Dortmund. We should have won versus Newcastle United. Wednesday’s game will be important but not yet decisive. We changed a few players last summer. The squad got better in my mind. We learned from our mistakes and want to play our cards in every competition. We have quality and quantity now. Experience is key in Europe, but youth can work too. You need the right mix, and we have it. We’re confident but humble.”

“Personally, I just want to help the team win. Scoring or assisting is the same. I hope to return to the stat sheet soon.”

Giroud isn’t thinking long-term.

“I don’t look past June. I’m focused on this year and doing the best I can for Milan. We’ll see but, as always, I’m happy to be here.”

Giroud praised his compatriot Yacine Adli.

“I’m very glad for him because he worked hard since day one. It wasn’t easy because he didn’t have much playing time in the past. He’s very skilled. He can showcase it and aid the team now. We hope he continues as he has done lately.”
