UPDATE: The Storm are set to play against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in…

On June 26th, when Caitlin Clark first visited, the Storm broke their franchise attendance record, largely due to the immense fan interest sparked by the rookie sensation from the Indiana Fever.

Following their 85-83 victory last month, coach Noelle Quinn expressed gratitude to the packed crowd of 18,343 at Climate Pledge Arena, emphasizing the positive impact on women’s basketball and the Seattle community. As Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever return for another matchup on Thursday at 7 p.m., the game has once again sold out, marking the third sellout in franchise history.

While Clark is expected to draw significant attention both on and off the court, the rematch also highlights Storm star Jewell Loyd. In their previous encounter, Loyd delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 32 points on 12-of-24 shooting, along with 11 rebounds and six assists — all season highs. In contrast, Clark contributed 21 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in her WNBA debut in Seattle.

Despite initial shooting struggles this season, Loyd remains optimistic, focusing on maintaining her rhythm and confidence. While her scoring has slightly declined with the addition of new teammates, Loyd has elevated her contributions in rebounds, assists, and steals, underscoring her versatility and impact beyond scoring.

The Storm currently hold a 2-0 record against the Fever this season, with their latest victory being a 103-88 road win on May 30th. Since then, the Fever have shown improvement, posting a 6-3 record, including winning four of their last five games.
