The Sixers’ second-round center Adem Bona intends to always give it his all.

Adem Bona is content to let players like fellow rookie Jared McCain handle the scoring duties. Selected 41st overall by the Sixers, the 21-year-old UCLA center is renowned for his relentless effort.

“I guarantee you’ll always see maximum effort from me,” Bona asserted during a press conference at the Sixers’ training complex in Camden, New Jersey. “Every time I step onto the court, I’m competing at full throttle and giving everything I’ve got.”

Bona emphasized his commitment to contributing energy and effort to his team, highlighting his reputation as one of the hardest workers in the draft. His hustle was a defining trait during his time at UCLA, where as a sophomore he earned the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award. Despite frequently dealing with foul trouble—accumulating at least four fouls in 19 out of 33 games—Bona managed impressive defensive stats with 1.8 blocks and 1.1 steals per game. He is recognized as an agile and tenacious defender in the paint.

Remarkably, Bona’s basketball journey began relatively late at the age of 13, after moving from Nigeria to Turkey. He has since represented Turkey at the youth level, demonstrating his adaptability and commitment to the sport.
