### Penrith Panthers Move to Terminate Taylan May’s Contract Amid Additional Breach Notice
Penrith Panthers have issued a second breach notice to sidelined player Taylan May, moving towards terminating his contract, as reported by The Sydney Morning Herald. The 22-year-old received this latest notice on Sunday, related to police charges stemming from an alleged dispute with his partner.
May is currently suspended under the NRL’s no-fault policy after being charged with a domestic violence offence, to which he has pleaded not guilty. The case has been adjourned until March 2025.
Taylan May’s career with the Penrith Panthers is on the brink, as the center faces the threat of being sacked due to multiple behavioral incidents spanning several years. This latest breach notice, following charges from an alleged domestic dispute, adds to his troubled history, putting his future with the club in serious jeopardy.
The breach notice issued to Taylan May by the Penrith Panthers alleged that he brought the club into disrepute due to the domestic violence allegations against him.
However, May received an injunction from the Federal Court, preventing Penrith’s show cause hearing from taking place—which could have led to his potential termination. His injunction argued that the second hearing breached his rights as a professional athlete.
May’s legal team and the Panthers’ legal counsel are expected to appear before a judge again on Wednesday, just hours before Origin II kicks off.
Sources told the Herald that the first breach notice referenced May’s use of foul language on social media and a video showing him in the passenger seat of a car speeding in a school zone.
The NRL has been informed of the issue surrounding Taylan May.
In March, May signed a lucrative two-year contract extension valued at nearly $1.2 million, extending his tenure with the club until the end of 2026.
Since his debut in 2021, May has played 30 games for Penrith.
