Preseason games between Ossett United and Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town are scheduled.

Ossett United is gearing up for the next season in the NPL East by scheduling matches against two Football League teams. Both Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday will be sending teams to Ingfield to compete against Dave Wild’s squad next month. The pre-season fixtures for Ossett kick off with a match against Ilkley on Saturday, July 6th at 3 pm. Following that, they will face League One’s Huddersfield on Wednesday, July 10th at 7:30 pm, and Championship club Sheffield Wednesday two nights later, also with a 7:30 pm kick-off time.

On Saturday, July 20th at 3 pm, United will be on the road to Ramsbottom for their next pre-season fixture. Following that, they’ll be hosting Hemsworth MW on the following Tuesday at 7:30 pm. Additionally, they’re actively seeking another friendly match to round off their pre-season preparations for the last Saturday in July.

Ossett United has expanded their squad for the upcoming season by making two more signings.

One addition is Ollie McFadyen, a forward from Fiji under 20 international, who reunites with manager Wild after previously playing together at Runcorn Linnets. Wild expressed his excitement about McFadyen’s joining, citing his attacking prowess and game-changing abilities, emphasizing how his style aligns perfectly with Ossett’s ambitions.

The second signing is Adam Blakeley, a versatile full-back or midfielder, recruited from Hallam. Wild praised Blakeley’s experience at higher levels and highlighted his adaptability and potential contributions to the team’s success. He sees Blakeley primarily as a right-sided defender but appreciates his versatility, which will be valuable for Ossett throughout the season. Wild and the club’s board anticipate Blakeley becoming a fan favorite, considering his youthful enthusiasm and desire to progress steadily through the ranks.
