Today, Yeni Safak has provided updates on Southampton forward Paul Onuachu’s future.

After spending last season at Trabzonspor, Onuachu has been linked with a return to the Super Lig side. According to Yeni Safak, Trabzonspor is engaged in transfer discussions with Southampton. However, they are hesitant to meet the Premier League side’s reported €15 million asking price for the 30-year-old.

As a result, no formal offer has been made for Onuachu yet, and Trabzonspor seems willing to wait until the final days of the transfer window. Reports suggest that if an offer does materialize from Trabzon, it will likely be a loan deal for another season, possibly with an option to buy. Onuachu reportedly expresses interest in returning to the Turkish side after his successful stint there.

However, Trabzonspor may face competition for Onuachu’s signature, as recent reports indicate that Besiktas is also interested in acquiring a center forward this summer.

During his previous season, Onuachu made 25 appearances and scored an impressive 17 goals. He remains under contract with Southampton until June 2026.
