Pelle Larsson Wants To Present Her “Well-Rounded” Performance To The Miami Heat

Pelle Larsson, like many NBA draft hopefuls in recent days, anticipated being selected in the first round on Wednesday. However, when that didn’t happen, he was content with the second option, despite projections from some mock drafts placing him in the first round.

On Thursday, Larsson was drafted by the Miami Heat with the 44th overall pick. Miami acquired him by trading their 43rd pick to the Atlanta Hawks along with cash considerations.

“It doesn’t bother me,” Larsson commented. “What matters most is that I have the opportunity to showcase my talent, prove myself, and earn the organization’s trust. The Heat selected me, they believe in me, and that builds my confidence in them.”

During his senior season at Arizona last year, Larsson averaged 12.9 points, four rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game, earning him All-Pac-12 second-team honors. He concluded his collegiate career as the only player nationwide to tally at least 1,200 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, and 100 steals.

“I had productive discussions with Miami throughout the draft process,” Larsson recalled. “I also had a chance to work out with them, which was a positive experience. What appeals to me about the Heat is their reputation for developing versatile players like myself who excel in shooting. I’m eager to integrate that into my daily routines.”
