Mike McGrath: Brentford enters the contest to sign Leeds United’s phenom Archie Gray.

At this rate, Leeds United are bracing for a busy summer, with talk of player departures dominating fan discussions.

The exact players set to leave are still uncertain, but there’s no doubt that Archie Gray will attract plenty of interest if Leeds decide to sell him, ensuring the 49ers will have no shortage of potential suitors.

According to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath, Leeds United are expected to receive increased interest in their talented midfielder Archie Gray this summer.

Thomas Frank’s Brentford is reportedly among the clubs showing interest in Gray. Brentford, who finished 16th in the Premier League last season, are now in contention to secure the services of the young midfielder.

According to McGrath, “plenty” of top-flight clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Borussia Dortmund, have been strongly linked with Archie Gray. Despite this interest, Gray remains under contract with Leeds until 2028, having signed a long-term deal in January to dissuade potential suitors.

The prospect of Archie Gray leaving Leeds is becoming increasingly real for us fans, especially with more clubs showing interest. If Brentford view him as a viable target, a transfer seems likely.

Brentford is not known for big spending, so Gray might be available for a reasonable fee, which is concerning for us.

If they offer the highest bid in a scenario where we must sell, it might be easier to accept, even though it’s an unpleasant situation.

Nevertheless, this is a difficult and disappointing scenario, and it reflects poorly on the club’s owners, the 49ers.
