Leicester turns down Chelsea’s initial offer for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Dewsbury-Hall, who played under current Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at Leicester last season, has become a recent target. The midfielder halted negotiations with Brighton & Hove Albion in the hopes of securing a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

According to The Telegraph, Leicester rejected an initial bid from Chelsea, but discussions between the clubs are ongoing.

Leicester values Dewsbury-Hall at £35m, but Chelsea aims to negotiate a deal that may involve at least one player going the other way. This arrangement would likely occur separately, similar to the deal that saw Ian Maatsen move to Aston Villa in exchange for midfielder Omari Kellyman.

Striker David Datro Fofana and midfielder Cesare Casadei are mentioned as potential players who could be included in the deal, while Leicester is reportedly interested in Armando Broja.

In another development, Chelsea are nearing a deal to transfer winger Omari Hutchinson to newly promoted Ipswich Town.

The 20-year-old, who arrived on a free transfer from Arsenal in 2022, impressed during his loan spell with Ipswich in the Championship last season and is poised to rejoin the club in a deal valued at slightly over £20m.

BBC Sport reports that Arsenal are entitled to a 15% sell-on fee, which will see them receive close to £3m from the transfer.

Chelsea did not include a buy-back clause in Hutchinson’s transfer but will retain a 25% stake in any future sale. Additionally, they have secured the right to match any future offers made for the talented young winger.
