For just €15 million, Nottingham Forest can sign the target. Player and club are unfazed by Reds’ interest

Earlier today, reports from Spanish media indicated that Nottingham Forest have expressed interest in signing Real Betis winger Assane Diao.

Details are sparse regarding the pursuit, but it was mentioned that Nottingham Forest are keen on the player. However, Diao is currently focused on the UEFA Under-19 European Championship.

Estadio Deportivo has now picked up on these reports regarding Nottingham Forest’s interest. They suggest that the English club, known as the Tricky Trees, would like to discuss a potential loan deal with an option or obligation to purchase Diao.

It’s reported that both Real Betis and Assane Diao are handling Nottingham Forest’s interest calmly, recognizing that the transfer window has just opened and other opportunities may arise.

According to the report, Diao has a €30 million release clause, which could potentially be activated for €15 million if the interested club doubles his current salary. This unusual condition is not elaborated further, but it suggests that the player’s representatives may receive a portion of the fee if a club pays the full release clause.

Nottingham Forest are likely to face competition for Diao’s signature, as he has been previously linked with other Premier League clubs and has attracted interest from Saudi Arabian sides as well.

At this stage, it appears to be an early stage of negotiations, with developments expected over the coming weeks.
