Jonathan Hogg, the captain of Huddersfield Town, said he couldn’t imagine playing anywhere else right now.

Huddersfield Town’s long-serving captain and beloved figure, Jonathan Hogg, has expressed his deep attachment to the club, stating that he couldn’t have imagined playing for any other team throughout his career. Hogg recently inked a new one-year contract with the Terriers, extending his remarkable tenure at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Set to become a free agent at the end of the month, the Teesside native had been engaged in negotiations to prolong his illustrious spell with the club, particularly with new head coach Michael Duff showing a keen interest in retaining the influential leader. Despite grappling with a shoulder injury that sidelined him during the final weeks of the previous season, Hogg still managed to make 35 appearances and has now committed to another term with the club.

The midfield enforcer – who turns 36 in December – joined Town in the summer of 2013 from Watford and has been a stalwart during some of the most momentous times in the club’s history.

With 373 appearances across all competitions, Jonathan Hogg has been a consistent presence on the field for Huddersfield Town.

On committing to the club for his 12th successive season, Hogg expressed unwavering confidence in extending his contract, stating, “I had no doubt at all in my mind about extending my contract here. I’ve said it before, but this is my club, and I couldn’t picture myself playing anywhere else now. Having been here over a decade, I know Town in good times and bad, and while the past couple of seasons haven’t gone to plan, I’m determined to play my part in helping to put that right in whatever way I can.”
