Joe Mazzulla Reveals Unusual Way That He Is Preparing Celtics For Finals

It’s not the first time this core group of Boston Celtics players has reached the NBA Finals. However, this time, they might be able to clinch the title.

Previously, the Celtics were known for crumbling under pressure or losing games they should have won. This season, though, that hasn’t been the case.

They are currently on a ten-game winning streak in the playoffs, including a perfect 3-0 in the NBA Finals.

A significant factor in their success has been Joe Mazzulla and his ability to prepare his players to perform consistently. The second-year coach recently revealed that he’s been showing the players UFC fights to emphasize that the closer you are to defeating someone, the closer you are to getting beaten yourself (via Noa Dalzell).

That’s an interesting and very accurate analogy.

The Celtics anticipated that the Dallas Mavericks would come out strong, driven by the urgency of heading home with a 0-2 deficit.

Despite taking some hits, they managed to withstand the pressure, make their own moves, and ultimately storm back to win the game.

The Mavericks now have no room for error and will play like a team with nothing to lose, making them particularly dangerous.

The Celtics are just one win away from an NBA championship, and no team has ever blown a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals.
