GOOD NEWS: Delroy Beverley Named as Chairman of the Foundation.

Huddersfield Town Foundation has announced the appointment of Dr. Delroy Beverley as its new Chair of Trustees, succeeding Aidan Grills. Dr. Beverley, a prominent figure in Huddersfield’s business scene, brings over three decades of executive experience across various sectors, including social housing, healthcare, and local government.

With an educational background from Oxford and Cambridge, Dr. Beverley has served on numerous non-executive boards, notably at Ofqual and the British Library, where he chaired the Audit and Risk Committee. He also held positions such as Deputy Chairman of the Joseph Rowntree Trust Housing Board.

Continuing his regional leadership roles, Dr. Beverley remains the Regional Chairman at the Institute of Directors for Yorkshire & Northeast and a Board Member at Roffey Park Institute. Additionally, he contributes to the EDI External Advisory Group for Huddersfield Town FC.

Dr. Beverley’s accolades include being the first black chairman of a European business school at the University of Bradford and receiving prestigious awards like the IoD Director of the Year (CSR/not-for-profit) in 2015. Recognized by the Chartered Management Institute and Inside Housing, his contributions to business leadership are commendable.

In 2023, the University of Warwick honored him with a Doctor of Letters for his significant contributions to society. As the new Chairman, Dr. Beverley will advocate for the Foundation and foster partnerships with stakeholders and Huddersfield Town FC.

Siobhan Atkinson, Chief Executive of the Foundation, expressed excitement about Dr. Beverley’s appointment, emphasizing his wealth of experience and dedication to community service. Dr. Beverley, in turn, highlighted his commitment to supporting disadvantaged youth and ensuring the Foundation’s inclusive approach.
