According to the 247Sports composite, Wilmes, standing at 6-7, is a 3-star prospect and ranks 445th overall in the country, 33rd among offensive tackles, and seventh overall in Kansas.

Wilmes currently holds seven Division I offers from Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Arkansas, and Minnesota.

He’s notably large for his age, dominating the field in his sophomore season, and there’s potential for further growth in his junior year of high school. His highlights showcase his ability to overpower defensive linemen and occasionally deliver a pancake block.

While the Wisconsin football team already boasts a strong offensive line group in their 2025 class, offensive line coach AJ Blazek and Director of Scouting Casey Rabach are already beginning to assemble their group for the 2026 class, with Wilmes being a promising addition.
