Evaluating new League One managers, Michael Duff hopes to lead a Huddersfield Town comeback

Huddersfield Town enters their League One campaign with new leadership following the appointment of Michael Duff as head coach. Duff, formerly with Cheltenham Town, Barnsley, and Swansea City, signed a three-year deal with the Terriers, succeeding Andre Breitenreiter, who chose not to continue with the club after their relegation from the Championship.

Several other teams in League One have also undergone managerial changes in recent months:

– Barnsley appointed Darrell Clarke, who previously managed Cheltenham Town. Clarke, 46, took over at Cheltenham last September but couldn’t lift them out of the relegation zone despite improving their performance over the season. He brings significant experience, having managed clubs like Salisbury City, Bristol Rovers, Walsall, and Port Vale, with five promotions under his belt.

– Burton Albion welcomed Mark Robinson as their head coach. Robinson, formerly with AFC Wimbledon and Chelsea U21s, joined after an 18-year spell with Wimbledon. He replaces Martin Paterson and aims to improve Burton Albion’s performance after they narrowly avoided relegation last season.

– Rotherham United appointed Steve Evans for his second spell in charge. Evans, who previously managed Stevenage, Leeds United, Peterborough United, and Gillingham, led Stevenage to promotion before finishing ninth in League One last season. Rotherham finished bottom of the Championship last season, and Evans has been busy assembling his squad for the upcoming campaign.

– Stevenage named Alex Revell as Evans’ successor. Revell, 40, returns for his second stint with Stevenage, aiming to build on the progress made under Evans.
