Australian Jewish midfield player signed with St. Louis City SC

An Australian Jew is St. Louis City SC’s newest midfielder/defender. With a club option for 2028, Jake Girdwood-Reich just signed a contract with the organization through 2027. Before Girdwood-Reich to play in American sports, she needs to get international clearance and a P-1 visa, which is a non-immigrant visa.

Girdwood-Reich was a member of the Young Socceroos side that represented Australia at the AFC U20 men’s Asian Cup in 2023, where they faced teams from Qatar, Vietnam, and Iran. The cup was won by Uzbekistan, the host nation. After July 18, he will be available to play for St. Louis CITY SC. Top Australian player Girdwood-Reich assisted Sydney FC in winning their second Australia Cup.

Girdwood-Reich declared earlier this week in Australia, “I’ve always wanted to move overseas and give it a crack.” “I’m eager to put myself to the test against some really talented guys. They play in a way that I truly enjoy. The stadium is amazing, as are their supporters. Each week, they stuff it.

Girdwood-Reich, 20, was born to a Jewish mother and a Scottish father in Clovelly, New South Wales. Max, his second name, is an homage to his maternal grandpa Mendel, who fled the Holocaust and immigrated to Australia following World War II.
