Ademola Lookman has a particular request following news that West Ham can secure his services for just £21 million.

Ademola Lookman, the 26-year-old forward from Wandsworth, has recently emerged as a target for West Ham, as reported by The Mirror. He’s notably remembered by West Ham fans for his failed ‘Panenka’ penalty against them in 2020. Lookman’s potential signing for West Ham is highly anticipated, especially after his remarkable hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen last month.

Since departing Charlton Athletic in 2017, Lookman has had a diverse career path, playing for Everton, RB Leipzig, Fulham, and Leicester City before joining Atalanta in 2022. His time with Atalanta has been his most fruitful, with 32 goals and 18 assists in 78 games.

Despite rumors of a possible departure from Atalanta, there are doubts about whether Julen Lopetegui could bring Lookman to the London Stadium. Florian Plettenberg suggests that Lookman could be available for just £21 million this summer, which seems like a bargain for his talent.

However, there’s a significant hurdle: Lookman reportedly has his sights set on a move to a “top club” this summer, potentially ruling out West Ham due to their lack of Champions League participation. This is disappointing news for West Ham supporters, who recognize Lookman’s potential to inject pace and creativity into their attacking play.

Ultimately, it seems unlikely that Lookman will join West Ham this summer. If he returns to England, it may well be to a club competing in the top four.
